In June each year, ETSC organises the PIN Conference to publicise the results of the ETSC PIN Annual Report and present the PIN Award to a high-level policymaker responsible for the country’s outstanding progress in road safety. ETSC, The Polish National Road Safety Council and the Polish Motor Transport Institute (ITS) held a round-table event in Warsaw with the aim to raise awareness amongst policy makers, the private sector and key opinion leaders of how to develop a systemic approach to reduce alcohol misuse in road transport. ETSC and ANIA Foundation for Road Safety organised the first SMART (Sober Mobility Across Road Transport) international drink driving conference on 3 April 2014 in Rome. The event focussed on drink driving issues both at national and EU level to raise awareness on the most effective measures to reduce the number of alcohol-related road deaths.
