ETSC and the Road Safety Authority Ireland (RSA) are pleased to welcome you to this PIN event which will focus on reducing serious injuries among vulnerable road users.
A PIN report on serious injuries published in 2025 found that over half of all road users seriously injured are vulnerable road users and that cyclists represent the single largest proportion of all road users seriously injured.
In this event, colleagues from the RSA will share work they have been doing on cyclist serious injuries. Irish public health stakeholders will share their experience in managing road trauma involving vulnerable road users, including e-scooter injuries among children, and their views on how to enhance road safety.
In the second half of the event ETSC will give an overview of serious injuries across the EU while speakers from the Netherlands, Sweden and France (tbc) will share approaches from their countries towards reducing serious injuries.
