In the framework of the Safe and Sober project, the Motor Transport Institute (ITS) and the European Transport Safety Council have the pleasure to invite you to an international seminar on drink-driving and the use of alcohol interlocks on the 23rd of January 2025 in Warsaw.
Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, National Police, representatives from the National Center for Addictions Prevention, regional rehabilitation centres, and national transport company will animate the debate. International experts from other EU countries will share their experiences with alcohol interlocks and their impact to help reduce the number of alcohol-related road deaths in their own countries. The event will also cover an overview of the drink-driving situation in Poland and discuss the further development of alcohol interlocks at national level.
In fact, since 2015 legislation was adopted in Poland to offer drink-driving offenders the alternative to continue driving with an Alcohol Interlock installed in the vehicle instead of a driving ban. The seminar will therefore be an opportunity to share the current national situation and the main obstacles since the adoption of the law on alcohol interlocks.
An alcohol interlock demonstration is also planned during coffee break and lunch. The agenda of the conference will soon be available.
