Greece developing national digital processing system for speeding fines

  • March 13, 2025

The Greek government is moving forward with plans to develop a national digital camera enforcement system with automated processing of fines and has announced a tender for design of the system, which will be administered by the Greek police.

The plans also reportedly include the installation of 1000 enforcement cameras in urban areas.

Greek officials have participated in the European Commission’s EU Road Safety Exchange project (which is administered by ETSC) and have consulted the French National Agency for Automated Offence Processing (ANTAI) in Rennes which has been in operation for more than a decade.
