In the framework of the Safe and Sober project, the Hungarian Institute for Transport Sciences and Logistics (KTI) and the European Transport Safety Council will organise an international seminar on drink-driving and the use of alcohol interlocks on the 13th of May 2025 in Budapest.
Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, National Police and research organisations will animate the debate. International experts from Belgium and Norway will share their experiences with alcohol interlocks and their impact to help reduce the number of alcohol-related road deaths in their own countries. The event will also cover an overview of the drink-driving situation in Hungary and discuss the possible development of an alcohol interlock programme at national level.
An alcohol interlock demonstration is planned during coffee break and lunch. A draft agenda of the conference can be found here.
