The European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), the Norwegian Motorists Association (MA Rusfri Trafikk) and the Norwegian Council for Road Safety (Trygg Trafikk) organised the Safe and Sober Talk “Alcohol Interlocks and the Fight against Drink-Driving” in Oslo on 18 September 2018.
During the Safe and Sober Talk in Oslo, experts outlined the drink driving situation in the Norway as well as the EU, while international experts presented their experiences with alcohol interlock programmes. The practical implementation of Norway’s new law mandating alcohol interlocks in buses was presented, as well as the the Norwegian Police’s efforts to combat drink driving. Participants subsequently discussed drink driving and the role of interlocks in Norway.
