Croatia increases speeding fines and modifies road rules for e-scooters
Speeding fines will be doubled in Croatia and changes to road rules will be made to set rules for users of micromobility vehicles such as e-scooters, according to an announcement by the Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia earlier this month.
Speeding fines will increase from around €65 today to €130. The minister said that 38% of road deaths this year were a result of inappropriate speed.
The highway code changes will allow for e-scooters to be ridden on cycle paths or lanes, and even on pavements as long as riders take full account of other road users.
