The Netherlands

The Dutch experience in urban road safety, particularly regarding cyclists, has become widely recognised in the field of road safety. The Netherlands’ expertise on this topic has already been shared and adopted by some countries during the pilot phase activities. Despite experiencing a regression in road safety last year, with a 27% increase from 2021, the country still has valuable practices to share with other participating countries.

During the second phase of the EURSE project, the Dutch experience in automated enforcement, specifically in the context of driver distraction and seat belt usage, will facilitate the exchange of knowledge among participating member states.
