Croatia

Croatia’s rate of road death reduction in the last decade reached 30%, surpassing the EU average and showcasing the country’s commitment to safer roads. Although the national strategy’s target of 50% reduction by 2020 was not achieved, significant improvements have been made. However, road mortality in Croatia remains considerably higher than the EU average, underscoring the need for further efforts and measures to enhance road safety.

With a clear focus on key road safety areas such as enforcement and infrastructure for vulnerable road users, Croatia eagerly joins the new phase of the EURSE project, aiming to exchange best practices with countries that have already achieved noteworthy success in these identified topics.
