Ireland experienced a significant increase in road deaths in 2022 compared to 2019, highlighting the challenge faced by many EU countries in returning to pre-Covid levels. However, despite the need for additional measures to prevent further increase, Ireland’s road deaths per million population remain well below the EU average.
This demonstrates that previously adopted road safety measures continue to yield positive results. In the second phase of the EURSE project, Ireland will exchange its experiences and best practices in the areas of enforcement and driver training system.
