Hungary

Hungary is facing a challenge as the increasing number of vehicles outpaces the current decrease in road deaths. Despite efforts, Hungary’s road safety progress has stagnated over the last decade, with only a 12% reduction in road deaths since 2012, which falls short of achieving levels comparable to the EU average.

Participating in EU-wide road safety initiatives and collaborating with other countries can support Hungary to improve its road safety performance and achieve its goal of halving the number of deaths and serious injuries by 2030. Recognising the need for action to overcome recent stagnation, Hungary joins the new phase of the EURSE project and looks forward to exchange the best practices with EU Member States.
