Bulgaria workshop – 3 February 2021

The fourth online EU Road Safety Exchange workshop brought together experts from Bulgaria and the Netherlands. The topic of the workshop was enforcement, particularly the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, the prosecution of traffic offences and the collection of fines.

Virtually hosted by the Bulgarian State Agency for Road Safety, with the participation of representatives from the relevant authorities including the Bulgarian National Police, the Executive Agency Automotive Administration and the State Agency, the meeting provided a space for meaningful exchanges.

Experts from the Netherlands Police, Public Prosecutor’s Office (CVOM) and Central Judicial Collection Agency shared the modus operandi from the Netherlands and engaged in a lively discussion with the Bulgarian colleagues on how to improve the enforcement chain.

The workshop will be followed by a study visit to the Netherlands in 2021.
