16 October 2025 – EU Road Safety Exchange II Final Event

  • September 16, 2025

16 October 2025, 09:00-12:00 CEST

Three years ago, following a successful pilot project, nineteen EU Member States set out on a shared journey to make Europe’s roads safer. Through the EU-funded Road Safety Exchange II project, transport experts from across the continent worked together to tackle pressing challenges: reducing speed, designing safer infrastructure, improving enforcement and data collection, and protecting pedestrians and cyclists in urban areas.

EU Road Safety Exchange has now grown into one of the EU’s most dynamic platforms for cooperation on road safety.

As this phase of the project reached its conclusion, we invited participants to join us for the high-level final event in Brussels. This gathering brought together representatives from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.

Together, we:

  • Celebrated the project’s achievements and impact.
  • Shared lessons learned and best practices.
  • Showcased how exchanges have inspired new ideas, initiatives and partnerships across Europe.

Senior officials from the European Commission and the European Parliament – Claire Depré, Head of the Road Safety Unit at the European Commission, Elissavet Vozemberg-Vrionidi, Chair of the EP Transport Committee, and Elena Kountoura, Vice-Chair of the EP Transport Committee – spoke at the event, underscoring the project’s political significance and its lasting contribution to safer roads for everyone.
