24 – 28 October 2016: YEARS CAMP, Brussels

  • November 4, 2016

The YEARS Camp was held in Brussels from the 24th to the 28th of October. 11 groups of students from France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Slovenia were selected to participate at the YEARS competition and the one-week training with road safety experts. Each group has committed to carry out a local road safety campaign through the identification of a high risk site and a proposed low-cost solution to be submitted to the local authorities in order to have it implemented within one year.

The Camp was an opportunity to raise awareness on road safety issues and dangers young road users face on European roads. The students  had also the chance to learn how to carry out a road safety campaign and better advocate with local stakeholders. The last day of the Camp was dedicated to the assessment of the students’ projects before returning to their countries and start the YEARS challenge.
